What to do?

Have you ever found yourself in a state of confusion where you know that something has to change but you have no idea what to do?

I was in that position for a long time. I would go through every day hoping that my "luck" would change and something would magically appear and change my life for the better! The problem is, hope and wishing are not good strategies without any action to back them up.

Hard work alone will not bring sustained success. This is a harsh but true fact. You only have to look at people who have put in 50 years of work and now have nothing to show for it. They struggle with medical bills and are still in rented accommodation living on minimal social security payments. I had many conversations with people who were maintaining 2 jobs into their 60's and 70's just to make ends meet.

We need to take control and back up our dreams with actions that will lead to success. This sounds easy but, believe me, it is not. To do so we are bucking the trend that has been drilled into us from a young age. We are told not to have ideas "above our station" and to be realistic about the goals and ambitions that we set for ourselves.

These words come from people who have never reached for the stars. They have settled for what they have, the safe life, one where they are not stretched and it feels comfortable. I can tell you that I am not prepared to settle for average, I do not want to be mediocre and anything I do. There is a better life waiting for you to claim it, all you need to do is find your purpose then use that to get a clear picture of where you want to go.
